About Us

The Hagerstown Fire Department is located in downtown Hagerstown, Maryland. We operate out of six stations with both volunteer and paid personnel. The department consist of 5 Engine Companies (pumpers) and  2 Ladder Trucks,  Utility units, Chief, Deputy Chief, 3 Battalions with 3 Battalion Chiefs and 3 Captains, as well as its own Fire Marshal Office and Public Educator.

The Hagerstown Fire Department Volunteer Recruitment Committee is currently recruiting volunteer firefighters for all of our companies.

Being a member of a Volunteer Fire Department is not just about Firefighting. We also assist in Public Education both at schools and at Children's Village.  We strive for professionalism at all times no matter if we are in training, testing equipment, at  parade detail, or at our normal everyday jobs. We currently have over  60 paid staff. The rest are   volunteers.
